Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston (R-37) authored House Bill 1008 earlier this year, which establishes the Indiana-Illinois Boundary Adjustment Commission. This commission’s purpose is to study the possibility of Indiana annexing 33 counties that voted to secede from Illinois.

Joel Levi, Democratic candidate for Indiana House District 37, will kick off his campaign with an event on Saturday, October 25, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Livery in Hamilton Town Center, Noblesville. The event will feature State Senator Andrea Hunley as a special guest speaker. In the 2025 session, the Indiana Legislature passed a bill called SB1, which Governor Braun signed into law almost immediately. While the bill touts savings on property taxes, most homeowners are expected to save only around $300 per year.
