This filing season is a first for the HamCo Dems record books. Not only do we have incredible candidates filing for office across the county, we’re seeing multiple Democratic candidates in several races.

What began as a surge of civic engagement has become something larger: a reminder that organized voters still have the power to be heard in a Statehouse long dominated by a single party. As HamCo Dems look toward the 2026 elections, we are sharpening the focus on restoring balance, rebuilding trust, and elevating the voices that have too often gone unheard.

The models of Hamilton County are starting to make our reps in the state legislature and in Congress quite nervous. Our population, trending more educated and racially diverse than in the past, is looking more and more like a place that traditionally votes for Democrats.
