US House - IN-5

I’m Jackson Franklin, a Muncie resident, combat medic, and Staff Sergeant in the Indiana Army National Guard, where I’ve served since 2019 and deployed to Kosovo in 2023. The Army sent me to paramedic school, and I became a nationally registered paramedic, later working in EMS to protect the health of our community. I’ve also worked on local campaigns and served as a policy advisor for a previous congressional race. I was born in Muncie, along with my two triplet brothers, and raised by two hard-working parents who showed me what real strength, sacrifice, and love look like. We didn’t have much growing up, but we always had dignity, resilience, and a deep belief in showing up for one another, values that still guide my service today.

My late father worked for 27 years at the GM plant in Fort Wayne as a proud member of UAW Local 2209, giving his life to honest work and never reaching retirement. His story, like that of millions of working Americans, shaped my politics and my purpose. I believe dignity comes from solidarity, integrity, and improving the lives of others, not wealth or status. That belief was cemented when I attended my first Bernie Sanders rally at sixteen and heard the truth spoken plainly: a system dominated by money is not democracy. I’m running for Congress to help build a future where healthcare and education are rights, workers are paid fairly, women control their own bodies, and people—not profits—come first. That’s the future I believe in, and I’m committed to making it real for working families.
