State Senate - S31
Lasima Packett, a wife and mom of three daughters, is a longtime public servant, retired veteran, and community advocate running for Indiana State Senate District 31. She served at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, during the highly publicized trials of the 9/11 attackers and the USS Cole bomber. An experience that shaped her commitment to integrity, accountability, and public service.
Lasima’s career spans from local to federal government, with experience on nonprofit boards. She previously served as a White House intern (Obama Administration), and recently worked as a Mayor’s Neighborhood Advocate for the City of Indianapolis. There, she partnered with residents, neighborhood organizations, businesses, and public agencies to strengthen communities and expand access to resources.
The heart of Lasima’s work is a commitment to building partnerships. Her platform focuses on advocating for quality education, affordable housing, economic opportunity, and ensuring that government works for the people. She is running for State Senate to bring principled, community-driven leadership to the Statehouse.
