What happens at the Statehouse doesn’t stay at the Statehouse. It hits our classrooms, our teachers, and our kids. SEA 1, the property tax overhaul passed in 2025, will strip millions from HSE Schools over the next several years, leaving fewer resources for teacher pay, facility upkeep, and essential programs.

What began as a surge of civic engagement has become something larger: a reminder that organized voters still have the power to be heard in a Statehouse long dominated by a single party. As HamCo Dems look toward the 2026 elections, we are sharpening the focus on restoring balance, rebuilding trust, and elevating the voices that have too often gone unheard.

Joel Levi, Democratic candidate for Indiana House District 37, will kick off his campaign with an event on Saturday, October 25, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Livery in Hamilton Town Center, Noblesville.

Indiana’s Secretary of State recently announced that it handed over the names of its more than 4.4 million registered Indiana voters to the federal government to support efforts to “enforce Federal election laws and protect the integrity of Federal elections.” The effort is part of the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (DHS-USCIS)’s Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program.
